Uster, the third largest city in the canton of Zurich, with around 37,000 inhabitants, is a dynamically growing city in the Zurich metropolitan area and known as an innovative regional center. The Building Permits performance group of the city of Uster is a well-coordinated team responsible for the processing and review of building applications, consulting, and support of construction projects.
We are looking for a Specialist in Environmental Design (40%) to start immediately or by arrangement.
Your main tasks
- Technical management of the "Environmental Design" specialist unit (no leadership responsibility)
- Technical implementation of the legislative package "Climate-adapted Settlement Development" concerning climate-appropriate environmental design of construction projects to be handled within the framework of building permit procedures (§§ 49a, 71, 76, 76a, 238a PBG) as well as the design of environments for construction projects in general (§ 238 PBG)
- Consultation of builders and owners
- Assessment of relevant building applications and tree felling applications (consultation)
- Inspections, i.e., monitoring and acceptance of ordered measures (planting, tree protection measures)
- Participation in the building permit procedure in the role of procedural management (environmental design)
- Participation in consultations and political inquiries on the topic of environmental design
You bring with you
- Completed studies in architecture or landscape architecture or equivalent education
- Several years of professional experience in the field
- Experience in collaboration with administrative offices
- Further education or willingness for further education in construction and administrative law (CAS) desired
- Experience in public construction and environmental law is an advantage
- Secure German language skills in speaking and writing (at least C2)
- Good PC user skills (Office applications, M365, CMI advantageous)
- Knowledge of digital processes or artificial intelligence is an advantage
