Specialist in Volunteer Work (80%)

More than 2,400 volunteers are committed to helping people in the Canton of Zurich. They make a decisive contribution to our services and shape our organisation. For this commitment to have a sustainable impact, professional framework conditions, professional support and a culture of collaboration are required.

In your role, you will further develop volunteer work professionally, support volunteer coordinators and bring collaboration topics into practice. You combine professional development, advice and networking and help ensure that volunteer work is sustainably anchored in the organisation.

• You further develop the volunteer work of the SRC Canton Zurich professionally and orient yourself towards current trends, standards and social developments
• You design volunteer programmes, concepts and projects in a practical way and support their successful implementation in the specialist departments
• You support and advise volunteer coordinators on professional issues and strengthen their confidence in action in everyday life
• You design and moderate further training, workshops and exchange formats for volunteers and employees
• You further develop standards, processes and tools in volunteer management and ensure their effective anchoring
• You maintain internal and external networks and represent the SRC Canton Zurich in professional committees and exchange forums
• You actively participate in organisational and cultural development processes and bring in the perspective of volunteer work, collaboration and participation
• You support the conception, introduction and sustainable implementation of selected strategic projects

• University degree in social work, social pedagogy, socio-cultural animation, non-profit management or a comparable field
• Alternatively, a completed vocational training with appropriate further education and solid professional experience in the field
• Several years of experience in volunteer management, ideally in a non-profit organisation or social environment
• Experience in developing concepts, programmes or projects
• Enjoyment in advising, networking and collaborating with different stakeholders
• Further training in organisational development, process facilitation, coaching or change management
• Experience in adult education, moderation or group facilitation is an advantage
• Analytical and conceptual thinking as well as the ability to translate ideas into practical solutions
• Independent, structured and responsible way of working
• High value orientation as well as sensitivity to different life realities and cultural backgrounds
• Very good German skills; additional languages are a plus
