Network Security Engineer (m/f/d)

Role:
A secure network does not arise by itself. It needs someone who consistently develops it further. As a Network Security Engineer, you take responsibility for a modern infrastructure and put zero-trust approaches into practice. Besides network and security, Microsoft 365 (M365) is also part of your daily routine. You actively shape future topics such as automation and network access control.
Responsibilities:
You operate and harden the network environment with FortiGate firewalls as well as modern switching and WLAN components.
You continuously monitor and specifically optimise firewall rules, VPN access, policies, and IDS/IPS.
You plan network segmentation from VLANs to micro-segmentation and implement it.
Furthermore, you manage the cloud environment, Active Directory, and Hyper-V-based servers and expand them further.
In complex cases within 3rd-level support for infrastructure and security, you are the right contact person.
Additionally, you contribute to future projects around Network Access Control (NAC), SD-WAN, and network automation.
Qualifications:
You have completed IT training or possess equivalent practical experience.
You have in-depth knowledge of routing, switching, and VLAN, ideally with Cisco or comparable manufacturers.
You are confident in firewall management with FortiGate. A Fortinet certification is a plus.
You have solid knowledge of Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, Hyper-V, and Microsoft 365.
Furthermore, you understand modern security principles such as least privilege, defence in depth, and zero trust.
You work analytically and solution-oriented and are enthusiastic about new technologies.
