In this role, you are part of the Information & Technology business unit in IT Operations and actively shape the further development of Zurich Switzerland.
Quality Services supports Zurich Switzerland's Digital Products in delivering software faster, safer and with demonstrable quality. To this end, we are developing our current test automation into a scalable quality engineering platform. What to expect

- You design a sustainable and scalable test automation solution and establish an operating model in which operational tasks are efficiently performed by internal as well as nearshore and offshore partners. In addition, you translate the product strategy and business requirements into architectural decisions, technical enablers, roadmaps & PI goals and support the prioritisation of the Azure DevOps backlog. Furthermore, you establish standards for CI/CD, security, observability, infrastructure as code, test automation and technical quality gates
- You develop modern automation and integration concepts for strategic programmes, including the orchestration of AI-supported engineering and testing capabilities
- You manage technical risks, dependencies and technical debt transparently and document essential architectural decisions
- You strengthen the team through coaching, pairing, reviews and mentoring and reduce technical single points of failure through systematic knowledge building
What distinguishes you
- University degree in computer science, software engineering or a comparable field or equivalent practical qualification
- Proven many years of experience with modern testing and test automation strategies, ideally API, contract and component-based approaches
- Several years of experience as a senior or lead software engineer with productive platforms and distributed systems as well as solid experience in architecture, software and platform engineering and in building secure, maintainable and scalable solutions. This also includes the ability to set technical direction, make sound decisions and lead engineers without disciplinary responsibility (functional leadership)
- Very good knowledge of at least one of the languages Java, C#/.NET, Python or TypeScript and practical experience with other modern technologies. In addition, you have extensive experience with Microsoft Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, Git, CI/CD pipelines, APIs and infrastructure as code. You can also demonstrate a solid understanding of identity, secrets management, security, observability and automated deployment. Additionally, you have experience with Azure DevOps and agile delivery models, ideally in a SAFe or comparable scaled environment
- Strong communication skills in German & English, sound judgement and the ability to convey complex technical topics appropriately to the audience
