About the job
Start date:

Workplace:
Gampelen
The Witzwil Correctional Facility enforces sentences and measures on 184 adult men in open imprisonment as well as in administrative detention under immigration law. The inmates are guided and supported in various professions in agriculture, trade, and supply according to work-educational principles. Around 140 employees work consistently towards the goal of socialisation and reducing recidivism of the prisoners in the penal system. Production goals and enforcement goals do not compete but complement each other.
Your tasks
As a work supervisor, you primarily maintain and repair the machines and support the other specialist areas of our mechanical workshops. In the absence of our workshop manager, you take over the leadership in the agricultural machinery department. At your workplace, you lead and support a group of inmates according to work-educational principles. You work interdisciplinarily with other work supervisors and enforcement officers.
Your profile
You have training as an agricultural machinery mechanic or training in a related profession with a federal certificate of competence and ideally have several years of professional experience. Working with inmates, including those from other cultural backgrounds, is both a challenge and an incentive for you. As a resilient, stable, and open-to-criticism personality, you keep a cool head even in delicate situations. You enjoy working in a team and are interested and open to new things. You are comfortable regularly applying IT skills (Office) and guiding inmates at work also in French.
We offer you
You can expect a challenging and exciting role in one of the largest agricultural enterprises in Switzerland with a large, diverse, and modern machinery fleet. As a "bridge to freedom," your work makes a significant contribution to the reintegration of inmates into society. You will acquire the necessary enforcement knowledge through a part-time training or further education at the Swiss Competence Centre for the Penal System. Your workplace is located in a unique natural landscape.
