Head of Department Red Cross Transport Service and Public Transport Escort Service (80 – 100%)
The Transport Service and Public Transport Escort Service department is part of the Everyday Support area and reliably accompanies people with mobility impairments to doctor appointments, therapy or participation in social life.
As Head of Department, you ensure a high quality of service together with your team of thirteen employees and around 1,000 volunteers and continuously develop the offer so that it continues to meet people’s needs and remains sustainable in the future.
- You lead and develop the department including personnel management and promotion
- You successfully implement organisational changes together with your team
- You continuously optimise and develop services and processes, thereby ensuring high quality
- In cooperation with the internal IT, you are responsible for the central systems in the transport service and their further development and maintenance
- You are responsible for planning, budgeting and reporting of the department
- By maintaining internal and external networks, you strengthen collaboration and occasionally work on projects and national committees
- As an interface to the divisional management and other departments, you promote cross-divisional collaboration
- You also actively participate in operational day-to-day business (customer service, dispatch and administration)
- Together with the regional managers, you ensure the recruitment, support and appreciation of around 1,000 volunteers
- Several years of leadership experience of teams with different roles and functions in a service environment, ideally in customer service, dispatch or internal service
- Commercial training or comparable qualification with a strong service and customer orientation
- Sound process understanding as well as experience in dealing with key figures, evaluations and reporting as a basis for decisions
- Affinity for IT and digitalisation topics, experience with Office 365 as well as ERP or CRM systems is an advantage
- Enjoyment in actively shaping change and thinking cross-divisional, even in hectic situations
- Strong communication skills, empathy and tact in dealing with different stakeholders
- A structured, solution-oriented and independent way of working
- Enjoyment in working with volunteers and appreciation of their commitment as a supporting pillar of our offer
