Team Leader for Workstation Engineering and Virtualisation at the IT Department
To strengthen the teams and support the evolution of the environment, the Information Systems Department (IT) of CHUV is looking for a Team Leader for dynamic park management in charge of Workstation Engineering and Virtualisation.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the main university hospitals in Switzerland. Within the Information Systems Department, we support the institution's digital transformation daily to support clinical, research, teaching, and administrative activities.
As a Team Leader, you manage a team of engineers and technicians specialised in workstation technologies, terminal management, and virtualisation infrastructures related to workstations. You are responsible for defining technical standards, evolving platforms, and the quality of services provided to CHUV staff.
Combining managerial leadership and technical expertise, you actively contribute to modernising the digital work environment and implementing innovative solutions that meet the requirements of a university hospital.
Mission
- You supervise, support, and develop a team of engineers and system technicians
- You define and evolve the strategy related to workstations and virtualisation solutions
- You ensure the availability, performance, and security of the platforms under your responsibility
- You provide your technical expertise during projects, major changes, and the resolution of complex incidents
- You manage projects for the evolution of user environments
- You oversee the lifecycle management of services and solutions related to workstations and mobile terminals
- You ensure governance of workstation and application virtualisation solutions
- You participate in defining technical architectures and technological choices of the IT Department
- You collaborate closely with the Infrastructure, Applications, Cybersecurity, and Support teams
- You contribute to risk management and service continuity
- You manage budgeting, supplier follow-up, and contractual management in your domain
- You implement performance indicators and report to management.
Profile
- You hold a university degree, ETH, HES, or an equivalent qualification in computer science
- You have additional training in management or team leadership
- You have proven experience in managing technical teams
- You have at least 10 years of experience in Microsoft infrastructures and workstation engineering
- You have significant experience in managing large-scale infrastructure projects
- You have proven experience in complex and highly demanding environments regarding availability and security
- You have recognised expertise in several of the following areas such as Microsoft Windows Enterprise, Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, Omnissa Horizon, C Sharp programming, etc.
Depending on the candidate's profile, the salary scale is between levels 12 and 13.
