About the job
The municipality of Birmensdorf is located in a rural, natural yet urban environment near the city of Zurich and is excellently connected by public transport (S14 and S5 from Zurich main station in 15 minutes).The Birmensdorf primary school is a growing school with 9 kindergarten and 25 primary school classes and supplementary day care structures. The classes are taught in decentralised kindergartens and a central, shared primary school facility with four school buildings.
After-school care location Letten from August 2026
Approx. 58% (working hours during school time) Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, Friday
Your tasks:
• Accompanying and supporting the children and actively shaping the after-school care daily routine
• Collaborating in the further development of the offer
• Working in the holiday after-school care (hourly wage)
• Participating in internal meetings and further training
• Collaborating with the after-school care team as well as teachers and other specialists
• Collaborating with parents and guardians
You bring with you:
• A humanistic view of people and a good sense of humour
• Training as a childcare specialist, social or childhood educator, teacher
• Experience in caring for and supporting children
• Commitment and great joy in accompanying children
• Organisational skills and a reliable working method
• Resilience and flexibility
• Cooperation, reflection and pronounced teamwork skills
• PC user skills (Office) as well as good German skills in writing and speaking
