About the job
The University of Zurich is the largest university in Switzerland, and the Faculty of Law is one of the largest law faculties in the German-speaking area. The Civil Law and Civil Procedure Law group comprehensively covers civil law, the law of obligations, civil procedure law, as well as private international law from both a national and comparative law perspective in research and teaching. Legal-economic and empirical perspectives are also represented. Currently, a senior assistant position with a 100% workload (adjustment of employment level or job-sharing possible by agreement) is to be filled. The professional focus will be flexibly determined within the research areas of the group.We offer you a challenging and versatile role, individual support for your research projects and further academic development, scientific exchange within and outside the group, flexible working hours, as well as a stimulating, innovative environment. The employment conditions are governed by cantonal legal regulations. The position is limited to three years (with the possibility of a one-time or, in exceptional cases, two-time extension by one year).

Responsibilities
Your core task is research, in particular the preparation of a habilitation thesis in the field of private law or civil procedure law. The job profile also includes participation in teaching, including conducting your own courses. Furthermore, you will take on administrative tasks within the group.
Profile
You have excellent academic qualifications, an outstanding dissertation, a strong enthusiasm for science and teaching, as well as high social competence. You are pursuing an academic career and wish to qualify for a professorship through the senior assistant position. In view of this and the time frame of the employment, the advertisement is particularly aimed at postdoctoral researchers.
