These are your tasks
- Participate in the care of the palaeontological collection with a focus on invertebrate fossils of the Mesozoic
- Assist with the electronic recording of the palaeontological collection items as well as the optimisation of digital collection access (e.g. GBIF, GeoCase)
- Take on geoscientific preparation work if required
- Support public relations (tours, fossil identification, events such as Museum Night) and represent the Natural History Museum externally in project work with third parties
- Conduct scientific investigations on collection material in collaboration with the responsible curator
This is what distinguishes you
- Completed Master’s degree in Earth Sciences with a focus on invertebrate palaeontology of the Mesozoic
- Initial professional experience in a comparable field (collection, database)
- Good knowledge of Jura stratigraphy (Switzerland and Europe)
- Interest in geoscientific preparation as well as photography and image processing of palaeontological objects
- Careful, structured and reliable working style as well as a responsible approach to collection items
- Very good German or French skills combined with the ability to communicate in the other language. English skills are an advantage
