Senior Backend Java Developer with DevOps Expertise (80-100%)

Together with your team, you implement professional requirements into reliable business logic, develop interfaces, and automate administrative processes. You accompany new features from analysis and conception through code reviews and automated tests to deployment. In doing so, you and your team ensure stable, secure, and high-performance applications.

With your DevOps understanding, you look beyond the code. You further develop our CI/CD pipelines, contribute your expertise in containerisation and deployment, and work closely with software development, architecture, and operations. This way, you actively shape our development and operational environment and take responsibility for your solutions throughout their entire lifecycle.

With us, you bring in your ideas, influence technical decisions, and actively shape the further development of our scholarship solution "kiBon Stip". We expect from you

• Several years of experience in Java backend development (Jakarta EE with Quarkus) as well as solid knowledge of relational databases (Postgres), SQL, and Git
• A solid education in computer science (federal certificate/diploma, higher technical school, university of applied sciences, university or equivalent)
• Profound knowledge in developing complex business logic, interfaces, and automated tests
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern development tools
• Solid knowledge of cloud hosting, such as OpenShift or Kubernetes
• Experience with GitLab, Jira, Confluence, Sonar, or comparable tools
• German language skills at least at B2 level in spoken and written form
• Strong initiative and high willingness to learn
• Competent and efficient approach to solving challenges
• Confident demeanour, responsible, resilient, and capable
