About the job
Technical Coordinator (M/F/N)
- Full time
Company Description
As a global leader in the plant health market, we help farmers protect crops and thus ensure safe, nutritious, and accessible food for all – while minimising the use of land and other agricultural inputs.
Syngenta Crop Protection protects plants from sowing to harvest: from the moment the seed is planted until harvest, crops must be protected from weeds, insects and diseases, as well as drought and flooding, heat and cold. Syngenta Crop Protection's headquarters are located in Switzerland.
Syngenta Monthey is a production site for active substances, employing 900 staff. Its activities are mainly related to plant protection and, to a lesser extent, the Professional Products sector.
Job Description
We are recruiting a Technical Coordinator (M/F/N) to plan, coordinate and optimise all maintenance activities in one or more production areas at our Monthey site.
As the true conductor of maintenance in your area, you ensure the operational link between production, maintenance and project teams. You plan and prioritise daily interventions, coordinate annual shutdowns, and guarantee equipment availability while respecting safety, quality and cost objectives.
Responsibilities
- Plan and prioritise weekly maintenance activities (preventive, corrective, regulatory) in agreement with production.
- Lead the daily production-maintenance tier meeting: defining priorities, resources, schedules and progress tracking.
- Coordinate field interventions: preparation of work permits, ordering materials and external services.
- Ensure administrative closure of activities in SAP-PM, respecting work management processes.
- Plan and coordinate annual maintenance shutdowns in collaboration with production, engineering and external contractors.
- Be proactive in optimising safety, responsiveness, downtime durations and maintenance costs.
- Actively contribute to the maintenance team’s objectives: cost reduction, shutdown optimisation, continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in maintenance and/or production in a process industry (chemicals, petrochemicals or similar).
- Proven experience in site planning and coordination of maintenance shutdowns.
- Practical knowledge of SAP-PM.
- Proficiency in a planning tool: MS Project or equivalent.
- Natural leadership and ease in cross-functional coordination without direct hierarchical authority.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Education and Skills
- Minimum CFC (automation technician, polymechanic, chemical production technologist) or equivalent training.
- Strong technical knowledge in mechanics and/or electricity — both profiles are welcome, electrical background is an asset for the team.
- Good knowledge of chemical processes; openness to fine chemistry is expected.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong taste for working in a multidisciplinary team.
