Your new roleTogether with your superior, the city councillor, the Planning and Construction Directorate, and your dedicated teams, you will passionately and expertly shape the high building culture for a vibrant urban space with a high quality of life.
You are responsible for the strategic and operational management as well as the forward-looking development of the Civil Engineering Office in the context of politics and public administration. You lead demanding projects with technical, financial, and political significance, taking into account the diverse requirements of public spaces and relying on contemporary, sustainable, and ecological design. In exchange with external stakeholders and internal administrative offices, you coordinate the development of public road and traffic infrastructure construction. In all your activities, you develop and balance people, processes, and technologies and keep the big picture in mind. Your activities focus on customer and employee satisfaction, cost-effectiveness, safety, and sustainability.
- You have a university degree in civil engineering or spatial development and infrastructure systems, complemented by business management training.
- You can demonstrate several years of leadership, specialist, and project experience in infrastructure management with revenue and results responsibility.
- You lead clearly and decisively, provide orientation, set accents and impulses for change, and promote a respectful and participative culture.
- You are a confident personality with a clear stance, respectful demeanour, convincing communication, as well as negotiation and decision-making strength.
- You foster dialogue with various stakeholders and bring in new technologies and trends with initiative, creativity, and a sense for politics, administration, and business.
With around 160 dedicated employees, you ensure city-appropriate mobility and design, plan, build, and maintain public spaces and traffic infrastructures within the city area. In doing so, we make an important contribution to the high quality of life in the city of St. Gallen.
