The Technical Service department in the Operations Centre of the UZH is responsible for the maintenance, fault intervention, and modification of the HVAC/E systems of the university properties at Zentrum, Botanical Garden, Schlieren, Buchs, and Oerlikon.At the Botanical Garden site, we operate a specialised technical infrastructure that supports research and teaching at the highest level. For the operation and maintenance of modern plant growth chambers as well as a diverse portfolio of building technical systems, we are looking for a committed and experienced individual who enjoys challenging technical tasks.
Building Technician: Refrigeration
Tasks
- Operation and maintenance of complex building systems
- Fault intervention, maintenance, and modification of technical systems and equipment, primarily in the field of refrigeration
- Control, regulation, and monitoring of technical systems with support from building management systems
- Independent execution of installations, repairs, or optimisations or coordination via third-party companies
- Assumption of on-call duty after thorough training (24/7, approx. 5–6 times per year)
Profile
- Completed basic training, preferably as a refrigeration system mechanic EFZ or a comparable qualification with solid practical experience in refrigeration technology
- Several years of professional experience in the operation and maintenance of building technical systems (HVACSE)
- Knowledge in building and process automation
- Networked thinking and interest in the interfaces of various building technical trades
- Team-oriented, service-minded, and professional demeanour
- Independent, reliable, and conceptual working style
- Good IT user skills (MS Office 365, control systems)
- Good oral and written German skills, English is an advantage
- Ideally in possession of a category B driving licence
