About the job
Start date:
1 June 2027
Work location:
Erlach
Retirements in the service sector are being used to reorganise our existing structures. In doing so, we are combining the Technical Service and the previous fields of work of Schlossallmend under a single management.
For the establishment and leadership of this newly consolidated area, we are seeking a practical, strong leadership and responsible personality as of 1 June 2027.
Your area of responsibility is exceptionally diverse: it ranges from the Technical Service and maintenance of our historic properties to gardening and agriculture with small animal husbandry, as well as the management of our Seemätteli by the lakeside. Besides reliable operation, these fields of work have an additional significance at SHE: they can offer children and young people practical experience, a sense of achievement, and alternative learning and relief opportunities.
Your tasks
• Build and lead the area: You lead the staff of Infrastructure & Environment both personally and operationally and develop a common, well-functioning area from the previous fields of work.
• Ensure operation: Together with your team, you ensure maintenance, care, safety and preservation of value of our historic castle complex, other properties, facilities, machinery and infrastructure, as well as winter and weekend service.
• Coordinate diverse fields of work: Technical Service, gardening, agriculture with small animal husbandry and Seemätteli are part of your area of responsibility. You plan resources and deployments and ensure smooth processes.
• Create agogic opportunities: Together with the area management and educational professionals, you enable suitable practical assignments for pupils. You contribute your professional skills and create manageable, meaningful and authentic work tasks.
• Collaborate interdisciplinarily: You exchange with the school, social pedagogy/housing and other service areas and help implement appropriate learning and relief offers.
• Organise and take responsibility: Work and deployment planning, budget co-responsibility, administrative tasks, reporting and participation in relevant internal bodies also belong to your function.
Your profile
• Professional background: You have a vocational, technical, agricultural or comparable professional basic education and bring solid professional experience.
• Leadership: You have already taken on leadership responsibility or have equivalent professional and practical experience that qualifies you to lead a versatile team.
• Agogic openness: An agogic qualification is not required. Experience in accompanying children or young people, work agogic knowledge or comparable experience is a plus. What matters is your willingness to engage with our pedagogical-agogic mission and implement it together with the professionals.
• Working style: You work independently, pragmatically and solution-oriented, can set priorities and keep an overview even in a diverse work environment.
• Personality: You lead clearly and appreciatively, are a team player and resilient, and enjoy connecting people, craft, nature and operation.
We offer you
• You do not take over a fully defined area but can actively shape the merging of Technical Service, gardening, agriculture and Seemätteli.
• You receive a versatile leadership role with high personal responsibility, an exceptional working environment and the opportunity to additionally apply your professional skills for the development of young people.
• You can expect a respectful, solution-oriented working atmosphere and employment conditions according to the cantonal regulations of the Directorate for the Interior and Justice.

The Schulheim Schloss Erlach is a cantonal institution of the educational system for child and youth welfare. It educates and cares for children and young people with normal abilities, some with learning difficulties, who are in difficult life situations. They live in socially pedagogical residential groups mixed by age and gender and mostly attend the internal special education school. In the sense of reintegration, the institution also offers outpatient care with day groups as well as regular school attendance in Erlach. Agricultural and horticultural operations, the Technical Service, housekeeping, catering and administration are part of the pedagogical concept: they serve as learning, experience and work fields. The institution works according to the systemic solution-oriented approach LOA. In accompanying the clientele, we orient ourselves to the model of Cooperative Process Design (KPG).
