The Geneva Foundation for Sociocultural Animation is a partner institution, funded by the Canton and the municipalities, whose mission is to promote and maintain social cohesion in the canton of Geneva, that is to ensure the quality of the relationship between individuals and society. Through socio-educational, sociocultural and associative field actions carried out by centres and outreach teams, the Foundation meets the population's needs in terms of meeting, exchange, solidarity, citizenship, quality of life, with the general aim of preventing social exclusion.
RMNA Mandate – Organisational Specificities of the TSHM Team
For young asylum seekers, strengthen activation skills and identification of places, actions and resource persons outside the entities responsible for asylum and their schooling, including cultural and sporting aspects. The aim is to enable young people to (re)gain confidence in their abilities, feel useful, recognised and supported.
For any action undertaken, aim to facilitate reception, integration and inclusion in Geneva society.
Provide specific follow-up/support as a relay between young people and institutions, aiming for autonomy, especially during the transition to adulthood.
Target audience: Young asylum seekers aged 15 to 25, dependent on the Hospice Général.

Job Description
Your mission:
Within a committed team and in close collaboration with the Geneva socio-educational network, you contribute to the reception, integration and inclusion of unaccompanied young asylum seekers (RMNA and former RMNA). You promote their autonomy and participation in the social, cultural and sporting life of the canton, while strengthening their links with local resources.
Main tasks:
- Contribute to the reception, integration and inclusion of young asylum seekers in Geneva society in partnership with the socio-educational network
- Support young people in discovering and appropriating institutional resources outside those specifically responsible for asylum, including social, cultural and sporting resources available in Geneva.
- Design and implement collective actions promoting their social and civic participation.
- Support the development of young people’s empowerment by valuing their skills, resources and capacity to be actors in their own journey.
- Act as an intermediary and relay between young people and partner institutions to support their autonomy, especially during the transition to adulthood.
- Work closely with actors in the socio-educational network and direct young people to appropriate support structures.
- Work complementarily with network professionals, respecting each other’s missions and competencies.
Task description:
- Ensure a regular presence in the reference home of the Hospice Général hosting RMNA, notably through on-site sessions.
- Design, organise and lead sociocultural activities within the home and externally.
- Develop and carry out sociocultural projects in partnership with the Hospice Général and local actors.
- Contribute to the development of a catalogue of socio-professional integration opportunities.
- Develop activity programmes and ensure their follow-up, in accordance with FASe supervision standards.
- Participate in coordination meetings, conferences and exchange sessions with home teams.
- Ensure smooth communication with the young people’s referring educators.
- Support young people in their professional integration steps (discovery internships, experience internships), in coordination with referring educators.
- To ensure good complementarity, individual follow-up is carried out only within the framework of socio-professional integration.
- Experience (XP) and discovery internships: their implementation is done in complementarity with the referring educator.
- Actively participate in training, supervision and reflection spaces offered by the FASe institution.
Qualifications
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in social work, HES level or an equivalent university degree (education sciences, sociology, psychology, anthropology, ethnology).
- Or a State Diploma of Specialised Educator (DEES), Higher State Diploma of Youth, Popular Education and Sport (DESJEPS).
- For holders of a DEES or DESJEPS, obtaining SEFRI recognition during the first year of activity is required and will grant access to the maximum function class.
- Proven experience in social action and support for adolescents and young adults.
- Experience with migrant populations and/or those facing precarious situations: a significant asset.
- Good knowledge of migration and intercultural issues.
- Mastery of project methodology, collective action facilitation and social situation analysis.
- Excellent networking skills and good knowledge of the Geneva social fabric.
- Ability to work autonomously while being part of a team dynamic.
- Initiative, creativity, autonomy and sense of responsibility.
- Good organisational, planning skills, ability to manage priorities and emergency situations.
- Good writing skills and mastery of common IT tools, rigor and respect for deadlines.
Additional Information
- Work one to two weekends per month, in accordance with the CCT.
- Evening work (up to three evenings per week)
- Advance planning of holidays according to service needs and scheduled activities.
- Salary according to the Geneva State pay scale: maximum class 15
