Officer in charge of connection sector
Office of Forests and Natural Hazards | 80-100% (job-sharing possible) | Chur
The Office of Forests and Natural Hazards (UFP) is the cantonal specialized service for the forest and protection against natural hazards. The employees of the UFP are committed to the needs of society regarding the forest and ensure sustainable forest management.
You ensure that the Graubünden forest
- is able to protect people, animals, and infrastructure,
- is a habitat for various animal and plant species,
- is a supplier of raw materials such as wood, water, and energy,
- can also serve as a place of rest and recreation for people in the future.
For June 1, 2026 or by agreement, we are looking for an officer in charge of the connection sector (80-100%; job-sharing possible).
Tasks
- Management of the cantonal general connection system project
- Examination and evaluation of connection projects and carrying out the corresponding approval procedures
- Implementation of construction measures within the framework of the 2030 forest fire prevention strategy
- Assumption of planning, project and work management as well as preparation of technical bases
- Active participation in the preparation and further development of the cantonal forest road cadastre
- Collaboration with regional connection specialists, cantonal and federal specialized services, and other partners
What we expect from you
- Degree in forest engineering or civil engineering PF or SUP or equivalent training in the construction, forestry, or environmental sector
- Professional experience in construction and project management
- Good GIS and computer skills
- Initiative, team orientation, and reliability
- The working language is generally German; good knowledge of several cantonal languages is an advantage
