About the job
Your new role
In this newly created position, you will take on the professional and personnel management of the Central Services department within the Population Services and lead a team of six employees. In addition, you are responsible for deputising for the head of the office.
You bear overall responsibility for the naturalisation procedures and ensure a legally compliant, efficient, and customer-oriented process. In doing so, you actively participate in day-to-day business and use the specialist application CMI as a central working tool.
You competently advise and support interested parties as well as customers – both orally and in writing. Incoming applications are examined based on the legal provisions of citizenship law and corresponding decisions are made. You also independently conduct discussions with customers and prepare well-founded investigation reports for citizen communities and federal authorities. Conducting legal hearing procedures and drafting rulings are also part of your responsibilities.
Furthermore, you are responsible for the health insurance control office and ensure the correct implementation of legal requirements. You support the voting office organisationally and operationally, thereby making an important contribution to the conduct of elections and referendums.
As a central hub, you coordinate cross-departmental tasks and ensure smooth processes within the office. This includes, in particular, overarching coordination tasks as well as preparing and analysing key figures and statistics. Additionally, you take on the role of ICT coordinator of the office.
This position is for you if you
- have a commercial basic education, ideally supplemented by further training in public administration, law, or management
- have several years of professional experience in a municipal or city administration, preferably related to citizenship law or related legal fields
- have leadership experience
- possess a strong understanding of legal issues and can confidently assess complex matters
- have very good IT user skills, quickly familiarise yourself with specialist applications (e.g. CMI) and actively help shape their use
- work in a structured, solution-oriented manner with a high quality standard
- enjoy coordination and interface functions and take on responsibility
- act confidently and keep an overview even in a demanding environment
- communicate appropriately for the target audience, confidently and reliably – both internally and externally
