The city drainage department is responsible for the operational and structural maintenance of the public sewer system and the pumping stations and rainwater basins, thereby making a significant contribution to water protection. Additionally, it is responsible for the maintenance of public fountains and toilet facilities as well as the harbour facility.
We are looking for a new member for the operations group of the city drainage department starting 1 August 2026 or by arrangement.

Your main tasks
- Structural and operational maintenance of the sewer network and special structures and pumping stations of the city of Uster as well as the special structures of the municipality of Greifensee including on-call service
- Operational maintenance of the street drainage of municipal roads in Uster
- Structural and operational maintenance of the public fountain facilities of the city of Uster
- Structural and operational maintenance of the public toilet facilities of the city of Uster
- Structural and operational maintenance of the Niederuster boat jetty
- Participation in winter service for the city of Uster's road inspection department
What you bring
- Completed vocational training, e.g. as a specialist in operational maintenance EFZ in municipal services or a craft or construction-related training
- Driving licence category B, ideally BE or willingness to obtain it
- Reliable, team-oriented and flexible working style
- Resilient constitution and enjoyment of working underground
- Manual and technical skills in handling machines and equipment
- Willingness to work irregular hours for on-call/winter service
- Residence in the nearby area, ideally you can reach us within about 30 minutes
