Wasserverbund Region Bern AG (WVRB AG) is a regionally operating company with 16 employees, which on behalf of its 23 shareholder municipalities ensures the safe and sustainable water supply for over 300,000 people in Bern and the surrounding area. As a significant regional infrastructure organisation, WVRB AG stands for supply security, sustainability, and a forward-looking development of the water supply.

Chairperson of the Board of Directors (BoD Chair)

The new Chairperson brings the following professional, strategic, and entrepreneurial competencies as well as personal qualities and thereby complements the existing Board of Directors, selected according to the requirements profile, in a targeted manner:

• Political Networking: Extensive experience and networking in the political environment of the Canton of Bern or in municipal Bernese authorities, as well as high credibility and familiarity with political decision-making processes
• Strategic Generalist Knowledge: Profound knowledge in corporate management, HR, finance, law, and corporate governance
• Technology and Management: Technical understanding as well as experience in project, cost, risk, and preferably regulatory management
• Industry and Infrastructure Understanding: Knowledge of water management or supply systems and infrastructure; experience in related industries is an advantage
• Supply Security: Strong awareness of the importance of water supply as critical infrastructure and the responsibility for supply security
• Strategic Foresight: Long-term thinking with an infrastructure horizon of 20–40 years as well as insight into operational fields and industry, technology, and regulatory developments
• Stakeholder Orientation: Understanding of the differing interests of owners, politics, customers, and the public, as well as their balanced weighting
• Communication and Leadership: Confident demeanour, convincing representation, and pronounced communication, team, conflict, consensus, and decision-making skills
• Experience and Commitment: Several years of experience as a board member or in a comparable strategic leadership role, as well as high sense of responsibility, commitment, and availability – also for committee roles in extraordinary situations
