As IT Life of Zurich Insurance Switzerland, we ensure all insurance-specific IT services for the Life Switzerland business area. Within the framework of the DILI programme, we provide the future IT service for the processing of our individual life business. To strengthen our dedicated team, we are looking for you as a Senior Data Solution Engineer Individual Life.

As a Senior Data Solutions Engineer, you play a key role in Information Technology and contribute to advancing Zurich Switzerland Life's data strategy in collaboration with the Life business area. You develop and maintain both curated data products - clearly defined, easy-to-use data sets from the Life business area - and complex data products used by several other business areas. In doing so, you use and improve our modern Data & Insight Generation Platform (DIG) and work in partnership with various business areas to create a better understanding of our customers and their needs.

What you do

• You integrate data and work closely with IT & business experts as well as product owners from various business areas (including Individual Life, Finance, Customer Office, Agent, Broker & Partnerships, Underwriting, Group Technology & Operations).
• You design, develop and implement scalable, reliable and flexible solutions with Microsoft Azure Synapse/Fabric components to further develop our data platform.
• You develop and operate reliable data pipelines used for analytical use cases.
• You conduct data quality checks and promote continuous improvement throughout the entire lifecycle of our data products.
• You ensure compliance with our data governance policies and actively contribute to the further development of our data product standard.

What you bring

• University degree in computer science, business informatics or a related field and at least 5 years of relevant professional experience
• Solid knowledge of modern data technologies with a focus on Microsoft Azure & data modelling (Star Schema, Snowflake, Data Vault)
• Several years of professional experience working with data processing programming languages, especially Python, PySpark and SQL
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to solve complex problems
• Excellent communication skills in German and English
