About the job
About IEM and the Role
IEM develops, integrates and supports modern solutions for parking management: parking meters, sensors, digital solutions as well as central platforms for operation, administration and service.
For our activities in the German-speaking part of Switzerland, we are looking for a technically strong and customer-oriented individual as a Field Service Technician & Project Manager. You will be the technical contact person in the field for our customers in the German-speaking region and simultaneously support the successful implementation of projects – from preparation to installation and commissioning at the customer site.
Position within the Organisation
You report to the Head of Customer Support based in Geneva and work under the direct professional leadership of the Customer Support Project Manager in Rotkreuz. You work closely with the sales, support, production, product teams as well as with other service technicians in Switzerland. You deputise for other technicians in Switzerland and vice versa. Your main workplace is Rotkreuz. The role involves regular assignments throughout the German-speaking part of Switzerland as well as occasional assignments in Ticino and Romandy.
Your Responsibilities
Installation, Commissioning and Project Management
Plan and carry out installations at customers in the German-speaking part of Switzerland. Configure, install and commission IEM parking meters, sensors and digital solutions. Configure customer environments on the various platforms. Conduct functional tests, document results and obtain customer acceptance. Coordinate the field deployments necessary for smooth project execution – from order receipt to production start at the customer.
Technical Support and Maintenance
Provide technical support by phone, remote access or on site – depending on urgency and type of incident. Analyse and resolve hardware, software, communication and configuration issues. Perform troubleshooting, repairs and maintenance work on site or internally. Implement maintenance contracts according to defined plans and customer-agreed obligations. Ensure the flawless operation of equipment installed in the field.
Customer Training and Support
Train customers, operators and users in the operation and ongoing maintenance of the equipment. Support users in competent handling of the various platforms. Conduct training sessions at the IEM training centre or directly at the customer site. Promote additional training, deepening sessions and refreshers to increase customer autonomy.
Service Development and Commercial Opportunities
Identify customer needs related to maintenance, support, functional enhancements or additional services. Actively support or promote maintenance contracts, support contracts, additional services, consumables and spare parts. Contribute to the development of the installed base by passing relevant opportunities on to the sales teams. Support the responsible sales manager in the technical assessment of solutions during the sales process.
Administration, Reporting and Continuous Improvement
Report activities, deployments and follow-up information in the ERP system. Forward the information necessary for invoicing to the accounting department. Manage the assigned stock of consumables and spare parts. Report product defects as well as hardware or software weaknesses and actively contribute to finding solutions. Collect customer feedback and forward it to the responsible departments if the issue is outside your direct area of responsibility.
We Offer
A key role in the field, close to customers and directly visible in the quality of the service provided. A 100% workload with high personal responsibility in daily organisation. A company vehicle for field service activities. Varied technical projects with equipment, software, sensors and digital services. Support from an experienced team and close collaboration with the headquarters in Geneva as well as the teams of the IEM group. Continuous technical training. Development opportunities towards advanced project or service responsibility. Further information on social benefits, holiday arrangements and additional perks will be discussed during the interview process.
Workplace and Travel
Your main workplace is Rotkreuz. From there, you will support customers throughout the German-speaking part of Switzerland. The role includes regular on-site assignments; occasional assignments in Ticino and Romandy may be added as needed.
