Associate psychologist at the Transcultural Unit for Children and Adolescents
We are looking for an associate psychologist (or one in the final stage of postgraduate training) at an 80% activity rate, on a permanent contract, for the Transcultural Unit for Children and Adolescents (UTEA) of the University Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Service (SUPEA) of the Psychiatry Department at CHUV. The starting date is planned for 1 September 2026 or to be agreed.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
The University Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Service (SUPEA) provides psychiatric and psychotherapeutic follow-up for children and adolescents aged 0 to 18 from the Centre, North, and West regions of the canton of Vaud.
The Transcultural Unit for Children and Adolescents (UTEA) is a specialised unit of SUPEA. It is based in Lausanne and Yverdon and covers the Centre, North, and West sectors of the canton of Vaud. It is a unit that combines mobile home consultation practice, network practices, and outpatient follow-ups. The majority of our consultations are conducted in the presence of an interpreter and in the patient’s mother tongue.
UTEA has a public health mandate for the most vulnerable migrant children and adolescents. The unit promotes access to mental health care and is part of a collaborative approach with the patient’s surrounding network and psychosocial coordination.
The proposed position allows us to complete the multidisciplinary team in the Centre sector (Lausanne), following the departure of the current holder.
Mission
- You participate in primary and secondary care
- You participate in training and research activities
- You manage the administrative elements of the unit and patients.
Profile
- You hold a Master’s degree in psychology and a federal specialist psychologist title in psychotherapy from the FOPH; applications from psychologists in the final stage of postgraduate training are also welcome
- You have a cantonal authorisation to practise
- You have experience in caring for children and adolescents
- You possess skills and knowledge in the migration field
- You have ease of contact and excellent collaboration skills within a multidisciplinary team
- You have good knowledge of network work
- You are interested in sharing your knowledge through continuing education courses and supervision
- You hold a driving licence and have a personal vehicle.
Depending on the candidate’s profile, the salary scale will be between levels 11 and 12.
