About the job
Are you looking for a meaningful, dynamic job where no two days are the same? Do you want to commit yourself to serving the public, work as part of a team, and develop your career in an attractive region? Are you seeking an action-oriented role combining contact and service?
Become a police cadet at the Morges Regional Police!
At the Morges Regional Police, you join a training-oriented, modern police force close to its community. Our territory, made up of six municipalities, offers a wide variety of missions: interventions, prevention, community policing, road safety, events, as well as regular contact with the public and local businesses.
Selection process
After completing the PRM application form online on the Vaud Municipal Police website, sending it, and validating your application via the email received in your inbox, you will need to print the form, sign it, and attach the requested documents before sending it by post to the recruitment coordinators for the municipal police forces.
If your file meets the admission criteria, you will be invited to the selection tests. To help you maximise your chances, you can consult the documents provided to prepare as best as possible.
After passing the admission tests, you will continue the process with a first interview at the Morges Regional Police. Depending on the progress of your file, a medical examination will be required and, at the end of the procedure, you will be invited to an assessment centre followed by a final interview with the Commander.
The selection process takes place in several phases with the indicative schedule as follows:
- Phase 1: from passing the admission exams until January;
- Phases 1 and 2: between January and March;
- Phase 3 and final stage: between March and May.
If you fail phases 1 and 2, your file will be forwarded to the next chosen force.
Contractual conditions at the Morges Regional Police
Salary:
During the year of training at the police academy, the salary is coordinated with other police forces. From 2027, the new reference amount is set at CHF 55,848 gross, i.e. CHF 4,296 x 13 salaries.
The salary for the second year of training corresponds to class 4.1 of the pay scale in appendix 5 of the collective labour agreement. In addition to the salary, the trainee police officer (PeF) also receives allowances related to the role.
At the end of training, the minimum placement corresponds to level 3 of salary class 4. Years of experience following the obtaining of the CFC or the end of secondary education are equivalent to an additional level.
Training repayment:
A training repayment, amounting to approximately CHF 125,000, is planned to cover all costs incurred by the Morges Regional Police in case of departure within 5 years after the end of training. This amount is reduced by one fifth (1/5) for each full year of service completed after obtaining the certificate.
Seniority distinction/rank:
A seniority distinction/rank is provided to recognise experience gained within the role. The practical year at the Morges Regional Police as a trainee police officer (PeF) is taken into account.
On the Polcom Become a Police Officer website, you will find all additional information related to training, requirements, and selection criteria.
