About the job
Engage with us for a solidarity-based coexistence.
Caritas Central Switzerland is a non-profit organisation committed to addressing the social focal points of poverty, work, and participation in Central Switzerland. Over 160 employees, 200 interpreters, and around 250 volunteers dedicate themselves to supporting people in difficult life situations and promoting social and professional integration.
Why this role is important
Our Secondhand & Brocki "Caritas Wohnen" in Sursee combines ecological and social sustainability. In addition to reusing donated goods, we create work and integration opportunities for people who need support re-entering the regular labour market. Through your work as an Agog*in in sales and inventory management, you make an important contribution to both goals.
What your contribution looks like in daily life
- Active customer contact and sales of clothes, furniture, bicycles, toys, and other secondhand items
- Assessment, sorting, and management of donated goods
- Attractive and sales-promoting presentation of products
- Preparation and partial assembly of furniture and other items
- Support, guidance, and encouragement of programme participants in their daily work
- Assisting participants with their professional and social integration
Who we want on the team
You identify with the mission of our Secondhand & Brocki and want to help give donated items a second life. You care about working with people and approach different life situations openly, appreciatively, and with understanding.
Additionally, you bring the following:
- An agogic qualification. If you do not yet have an agogic qualification, you must have practical experience in the work agogic field and be motivated to complete the qualification alongside your job.
- Experience and enjoyment in sales, ideally in retail or the secondhand sector.
- A good sense for product presentation and manual skills.
- Open communication, initiative, and a sense of responsibility.
Get involved and help shape
We work based on roles and on an equal footing. Each person brings their own strengths and takes responsibility for what is important. Besides your specialist roles in sales, inventory management, and work agogics, you can take on additional roles depending on your skills, interests, and needs. You will have scope for creativity and can actively contribute your ideas.
We offer you a dynamic and appreciative working environment with a lot of personal responsibility and scope for creativity. This is complemented by attractive employment conditions and social benefits as well as opportunities for professional and personal development – especially in the agogic field.
Ideally, you can start with us in January. If you would like to learn more about the position beforehand, please contact Yvonne Jaklin from the Sursee team.
