Payroll & Social Security Officer 80–100% (fixed-term)

About the job

For our client in the Biel region, we are looking for an experienced and professionally competent Payroll & Social Security Officer.

Your tasks

• Assisting with the monthly payroll processing as well as performing the associated checks and reconciliations
• Recording, maintaining and reviewing personnel, payroll and social security data
• Handling personnel administrative tasks related to entries, exits and personnel changes
• Supporting the processing of sickness and accident cases as well as EO, maternity and paternity benefits and other social security matters
• Preparing and processing notifications as well as correspondence with insurance companies, authorities and external partners
• Assisting with the monthly and annual closing tasks in the payroll area
• Ensuring high data quality and up-to-date information in the HR systems
• Supporting employees and internal contacts with questions about payroll and social security
• Taking on additional tasks in the payroll and HR services area, tailored to personal knowledge and experience

Your profile

• Completed commercial basic training or a comparable qualification
• Initial to several years of practical experience in payroll administration, payroll, HR services or social security
• Good knowledge of the Swiss social security system
• Further training in personnel management, payroll or social security is an advantage but not a requirement
• Confident use of MS Office and interest in digital HR applications and systems
• Knowledge of SAP and/or Abacus is a plus but not mandatory
• Good oral and written skills in German and French
• Strong numerical aptitude as well as careful, precise and reliable working style
• Independent, well-organised and service-oriented personality
• Team-oriented and flexible working style as well as enjoyment in actively supporting the existing team
