Cloud Automation Engineer (m/f/d)

The business units Business Development, Developments, General Services and Renovations deal with the conception and realisation of development projects with uses of all kinds and investment volumes of any size.
Role:
Building cloud infrastructure by hand is a thing of the past for you? We are looking for a Cloud Engineer with a strong automation focus who turns complex requirements into reproducible platforms. Bicep, Terraform, PowerShell, CI/CD and modern DevOps principles form the technical basis for a highly automated Azure environment.
Responsibilities:
Development and operation of a modern Azure cloud platform
Automation of complete infrastructure lifecycles from provisioning to decommissioning
Development of modular IaC architectures with Terraform and Bicep
Creation of standardised templates for reusable cloud resources
Development of powerful PowerShell automations for administration and cloud operations
Integration of Infrastructure as Code into automated CI/CD pipelines
Implementation of GitOps and DevOps principles in cloud operations
Establishment of self-service mechanisms for standardised cloud services
Development of governance and compliance mechanisms within Azure
Implementation of Azure Policy and automated security controls
Design of secure identity and access management concepts
Automation of roles, permissions and cloud resources
Setup of monitoring, alerting and central logging
Optimisation of cloud performance, availability and costs
Support with hybrid cloud integrations and migrations
Analysis of existing platforms and development of technical modernisation concepts
Participation in cloud security initiatives and technical architecture decisions
Documentation of platform standards, modules and operational processes
Qualifications:
Several years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, platform engineering or infrastructure engineering
Very good knowledge of Microsoft Azure
Solid experience with Terraform and/or Bicep
Very good PowerShell skills
Experience with Infrastructure as Code and declarative infrastructure
Practical experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines
Ideally experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or GitLab CI
Good knowledge of Azure networking, compute, storage and identity
Experience with Entra ID, RBAC and Azure Policy
Understanding of cloud security and Zero Trust
Knowledge of Kubernetes or Azure Kubernetes Service is an advantage
Experience with monitoring, logging and observability
Interest in platform engineering and automated operational models
Ability to translate complex technical requirements into robust and standardised solutions
Independent and solution-oriented working style
Technical education or degree in computer science, cloud computing or a comparable field
