Would you like to make an important contribution to the protection of the aquatic habitat? We offer you the chance to do so!

Your tasks

You will work on three major areas:

• Water quality of springs: You will participate in the biological and chemical sampling of spring habitats throughout the canton. With professional guidance, you will carry out macrozoobenthos identification from spring habitats, update the spring habitats database, evaluate eDNA results, and inform specialist offices and the public.
• Temperature loggers: You will install temperature loggers in spring habitats and regularly read them out. Additionally, you will assist in installing fixed temperature measurement stations at selected small water bodies.
• Work in the Water and Soil Protection Laboratory: You will support the team, accompany sampling at water bodies, and be involved in data management, evaluations, and reporting. If interested, you can also implement your own project.

Your profile

• Completed studies in aquatic ecology or a comparable field with solid basic knowledge in aquatic ecology
• Interest in and experience with field investigations (driving licence category B with driving experience required)
• Enjoyment of water bodies and their protection
• Experience with R, GIS, and databases is desirable
