Head of HRM (80-100%)
Directly reporting to the Rector and as a permanent guest in the University Executive Board, you will bear the strategic and operational overall responsibility for the university’s personnel management. You will take into account the specific framework conditions of the academic environment with its heterogeneous functional groups as well as the relevant public law foundations.
Area of responsibility
- Development and implementation of the personnel strategy in coordination with the Rector and the University Executive Board
- Overall responsibility and further development of HR management, in particular the establishment of personnel consulting tailored to the needs of the university, the further development of the remuneration policy and the digitalisation of HR services
- Direct management of the Personnel Services department and the heads of the Equal Opportunities offices
- Advising and supporting the management board and other leaders on organisational development, leadership and throughout the employee lifecycle
- Participation in university-wide committees and support of strategic projects related to HRM
Requirements
- University degree at Master’s level in Business Administration or Law or equivalent qualification (e.g. NDS HRM)
- Several years of leadership experience in HR, ideally in an academic environment
- Experience in dealing with complex, politically influenced organisations and heterogeneous stakeholders
- Good knowledge of public personnel law
- Experience in change management and transformation processes
- Strong communication skills, persuasiveness, empathy and leadership strength
- Problem-solving and integration skills
- Strategic, analytical and networked thinking as well as structured and solution-oriented working methods
- Fluent in German and English
