- Permanent position
About the job
Your task is demanding and offers creative freedom.
Vocational education holds a high value at SVA Zurich. Currently, we train around 45 apprentices and invest heavily in professional, contemporary, and personal training. We rely on the collaboration between our training managers and the practical trainers in the various departments of SVA Zurich.
As a training manager, you take overall responsibility for the training of our apprentices during their three-year apprenticeship. You plan and coordinate the training assignments, monitor their development, and together with the practical trainers ensure a high-quality education. The technical teaching of social insurance topics mainly takes place in the deployment areas. Therefore, you accompany the apprentices with a certain distance. All the more, you are called upon when challenges arise, important decisions need to be made, or more intensive support is necessary. You conduct site and semester discussions and are the contact person for apprentices, practical trainers, parents, vocational schools, and other internal and external bodies. In doing so, you naturally move between different professional and stakeholder groups and adapt your communication to the respective situation. Especially with demanding topics, you bring the necessary sensitivity. You do not shy away from difficult conversations but conduct them confidently, clearly, and solution-oriented.
As a practical trainer, you additionally supervise an apprentice in our Education & Training department and are responsible for their professional and personal training in everyday work.
Your area of responsibility is complemented by the coordination and organisation of the PWA internship (Post-Maturity Business Training) within SVA Zurich. You recruit our PWA interns and are the central contact person for the learning support in the various deployment areas.
Together with the team leader, you continuously develop our vocational education. You bring innovative ideas and your own proposals, question existing structures constructively, and independently implement new projects. You work on projects and organise internal events related to vocational education, such as the induction week for our apprentices or Future Day.
You convince us with your skills.
You have a commercial apprenticeship or a comparable qualification and already have experience in vocational education, ideally in a similar role. It is advantageous if you have a corresponding training or further education (e.g., federal certificate as a trainer or studies in psychology).
You are strong organisationally and keep an overview even when various courses, appointments, and stakeholder groups require your attention simultaneously. You enjoy working independently and autonomously, take responsibility, and make decisions. At the same time, you appreciate exchange within the team and close collaboration with practical trainers and other professionals.
You receive a lot.
SVA Zurich is the competence centre for social insurances. It is one of the top employers in the canton and is within walking distance of Zurich main station. There are good reasons why our approximately 1200 employees are above-average satisfied: a meaningful activity, flexible working hours with home office, good social benefits, and an appreciative informal culture. With us, you can expect a versatile role with a lot of personal responsibility and scope for design. You can contribute your experience, implement your own ideas, and help further develop the vocational education at SVA Zurich together with us. Would you like to accompany the next generation on their way into working life and at the same time help shape the vocational education of tomorrow? Then we look forward to meeting you.
