Role:
Network security is not created by a single firewall. It is created by a well-thought-out architecture. As a System Engineer Network & Infrastructure, you design exactly this architecture and combine Zero Trust with clean segmentation and clear rules. Besides the network, you take care of Microsoft 365 (M365) and a virtualised server environment. Exciting future topics such as network automation are already waiting for your ideas.
Responsibilities:
You monitor network security and continuously optimise firewall rules, VPN access, policies, and IDS/IPS.
You are responsible for the operation of switching, WLAN, and FortiGate firewalls and specifically harden the environment.
You plan Zero Trust networks as well as micro-segmentation and implement well-thought-out VLAN structures.
Furthermore, you administer Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and servers based on Hyper-V and expand these systems.
You are the contact person for tricky infrastructure and security issues in 3rd-level support.
In addition, you advance future projects such as SD-WAN, Network Access Control (NAC), and automated network processes.
Qualifications:
A completed education in computer science or equivalent professional experience forms your foundation.
You are well versed in network and security technologies.
In addition, you have practical experience with switching, routing, and VLANs, ideally with Cisco or comparable manufacturers.
You feel at home in firewall management. A Fortinet NSE certification is a plus.
You work confidently with Microsoft 365, Hyper-V, Active Directory as well as DNS and DHCP.
Moreover, you understand modern security principles such as least privilege and Zero Trust, analyse problems with a clear head, and are enthusiastic about technological innovations.
