Psycho-oncology supports people with cancer and their relatives on the journey through diagnosis, treatment and aftercare. We assist in coping with fears, stresses and crises, advise relatives as well as the treating teams and contribute with a well-founded psycho-oncological assessment to ensure that those affected receive the appropriate support in good time. Those working in this field take on a demanding and meaningful role at the interface of oncology, psychiatry and psychotherapy.
We are looking for a immediate or by arrangement
What to expect:
A cancer diagnosis never affects only the body – it also challenges emotionally and mentally. In this demanding phase of life, many people seek orientation, support and trust. This is exactly where your work begins:
- You accompany patients and their relatives on their often challenging path – empathetically, present and competent
- You independently conduct the psycho-oncological consultation in the outpatient area
- You care for inpatients on the oncology and palliative care wards in a consultative service
- You regularly work at the Langnau site as well, thus ensuring psycho-oncological care throughout the catchment area
- You work closely with a committed, interprofessional team
- Your work is characterised by closeness, professionalism and a deep understanding of what people need in crisis situations
What you bring:
- A professional title as a federally recognised psychotherapist or advanced in training
- Ideally further training in psycho-oncology and experience in the oncological environment
- Empathy, resilience and enjoyment of interprofessional collaboration
- The ability to respond flexibly to different situations – and at the same time be stable and reliable for patients and the team
- Very good German language skills, spoken and written
