Social Pedagogue/Care Specialist for Night and Weekend Duty

The KiEl Bethanien St. Gallen is a child-parent institution. We offer temporary protection.
We provide supervised or accompanied living arrangements for 16 families with children. The focus is on observing and promoting the welfare of the child, supporting in crisis situations, and stabilizing the family system. Our clientele includes women affected by violence as well as parents with mental illnesses, cognitive impairments, or other psychosocial difficulties.

What you can achieve:
- Taking on, partly sole, responsibility for parents and children
- Individual support for parents and their children in upbringing and everyday coping
- Care of children during the day and at night in situations of parental overload
- Taking over weekend duties (approx. 4x per month) during three shifts; early, middle, and late shift
- Taking over the night on-call duty from 7:30 p.m. to approx. 7:45 a.m. You sleep on site to be available if needed (approx. 4x per month)
- Household tasks and compliance with quality requirements
- Administrative tasks and ensuring the flow of information to the day team
- Willingness to step in for absences in the day team during the week
What you bring with you:
- Training in social pedagogy or a related profession
- Experience with children, especially in the early childhood area
- Enjoyment of supportive, encouraging, and humorous interaction with adults
