Who are we?

The Swiss Federal University for Vocational Education and Training (SFUVET) is the Swiss expert organisation for vocational education and training. We offer training and continuing education for those responsible for vocational education and training, conduct research projects on vocational education and training, contribute to the development of professions, and support international cooperation in vocational education and training. Our locations are in Zollikofen near Bern (head office), Lausanne and Lugano, with external sites in Olten and Zurich.

Head of University Development 80-100 %

Your responsibilities

• Support to the director and university management in the strategic, conceptual and organisational developments of SFUVET as well as in their implementation
• Active participation in projects and project management aimed at implementing the SFUVET strategy and the Federal Council’s strategic objectives, as well as support in monitoring their implementation
• Design, planning and coordination work in the areas of strategy, management, organisation and university development
• Professional and personnel leadership of the management staff
• Further development of the university development area and support in cross-sectoral topics
• Organisation and maintenance of collaboration with members of the university management and within the extended management (HR, legal service, Communication, Organisation and Quality, International Relations)
• Preparation and follow-up in terms of content of meetings and retreats of the university management as well as management of affairs between the university management and the SFUVET Council
• Planning and organisation of internal events (e.g. management retreats) and support for strategically relevant internal formats
• Member of the university management with consultative voice

Your profile

• Higher education degree, preferably in social or human sciences
• In-depth knowledge of the education landscape, especially vocational education and training and universities, as well as a strong affinity for education and university-related issues
• Several years of professional experience in a conceptual, coordination or project management role, preferably in the field of education, universities or the public sector
• Good understanding of institutional and political issues as well as a reliable and diplomatic approach in relations with various stakeholders
• Strong willingness to learn and develop, initiative, innovative capacity and analytical skills, as well as the ability to quickly grasp complex topics, structure them and present them appropriately to the target audience
• Sense of organisation and coordination as well as reliability in implementation
• Very good language skills in German or French as well as good knowledge of the other language; knowledge of Italian and/or English is desirable
