About the job
What is my role?
In this role, you work directly with the Head of Controlling & Projects and support the further development of controlling and the associated processes. At the same time, you ensure that cross-departmental projects do not remain just good ideas but are successfully implemented.
Your daily routine moves between financial controlling, reporting, process improvements, and project management. You analyse connections, create transparency, and ensure that decisions are based on reliable figures.
Your specific tasks:
You review valuations, provisions, and accruals and ensure that significant items are documented comprehensibly and correctly represented
You analyse discrepancies between trading systems and financial accounting and make connections understandable
You prepare management reports on margins, costs, cash flow, and working capital, showing not only the numbers but also the reasons behind them
You coordinate the month-end closing across trading, logistics, treasury, and accounting, track open issues, and ensure deadlines are met
You identify risks such as missing invoices, old provisions, or inventory discrepancies early
You document processes, define standards, and ensure that processes are understandable, practical, and sustainable
You coordinate finance and system projects, monitor milestones, and ensure that agreed measures are implemented
What do I need to be successful?
Degree in finance, accounting, controlling, business administration, or a comparable field
At least three years of experience in financial controlling, accounting, audit, or a comparable function
Experience with month-end closings, reconciliations, reporting, and financial analyses
Practical experience in cross-departmental projects, ideally with a finance or system focus
Very good Excel skills and experience with ERP and reporting systems
Very good German and English skills, both spoken and written
Structured working style and the ability to make complex topics understandable
Sense of responsibility and the ability to complete tasks
Work permit for Switzerland (including EU)
Advantageous:
Experience in trading physical commodities
Additional languages (French, Spanish, Portuguese)
What are my benefits?
You work in an international trading company and regularly interact with colleagues and business partners from various countries - no day is like another
Family atmosphere instead of corporate mentality: As a family-run company, long-term thinking prevails, communication lines are short, collaboration is straightforward, and trust counts more than titles
You work closely with decision-makers and can directly address and actively implement improvement potential without lengthy approval processes
Attractive social benefits and contemporary employment conditions
Workplace in the heart of Winterthur's old town, just a few minutes' walk from the train station
A varied and challenging role where your work has a direct impact on business decisions and project outcomes
What distinguishes the company?
The company is internationally active in the trading of agricultural commodities and has many years of experience in the industry. As a tradition-conscious, family-run company with a global presence, it focuses on sustainable business relationships and responsible value creation. It combines international market knowledge with long-term commitment along the entire supply chain.
At this employer, you work in an international environment where decisions have impact. Numbers are not just for documentation but help to manage risks, identify opportunities, and make the right business decisions.
