The University of Zurich (UZH) is the largest university in Switzerland with over 28,000 students and around 10,000 employees. The Human Resources department offers – in collaboration with the decentralised HR managers – all service and consulting services, processes, and systems of an integrated Human Resources (HR) management for all university units, employees, and managers.Our newly established team "HR Central Services" supports the areas of responsibility of the university management members in all important HR processes – from hiring to departure – and also handles more complex HR matters.
For this purpose, we are looking for committed HR professionals to join immediately or by arrangement, who are inspired by challenges, want to take responsibility, and enjoy actively helping to build the newly created team "HR Central Services".
HR Specialist: HR Central Services
Tasks
- Advising/supporting employees and managers in the assigned university management area regarding general HR topics along the employee lifecycle.
- Administrative handling of HR standard processes within and outside the HR systems including organisation and position management.
- Writing job advertisements, supporting recruitments and selections as well as onboarding and departures.
- Clarifying basic questions about salary and social insurance.
- Administrative handling of time and absence management, in close cooperation with HR specialists of the Human Resources department.
- Supporting cases outside the HR standard processes involving HR consulting of the Human Resources department and managers.
- Supporting employees and managers in the use of digitally supported HR processes.
- Participation in HR projects of the assigned university management area and/or the Human Resources department.
Profile
- Professional HR specialist certification or equivalent (e.g. B.Sc., CAS).
- Several years of professional experience in HR, preferably at a university.
- Quality awareness, careful working style, consulting competence, and negotiation skills.
- Strong communication skills: your communication style promotes constructive and appreciative collaboration with internal and external contacts.
- Team spirit, positive and motivated attitude.
- Networked thinking, initiative, assertiveness, and quick comprehension.
- If you are considered for team leadership, leadership competence and experience are mandatory.
- Interest and commitment in process optimisation and change processes.
- SAP/HR knowledge, preferably user knowledge of SAP SuccessFactors.
- Very good knowledge of MS Office programmes.
- Very good German skills as well as good English skills, both spoken and written.
