About the job

The Sommerau school boarding home is a social and special education institution offering services for children and adolescents with special support needs from 1st to 6th grade of primary school. For over 170 years, Sommerau has been established in a natural setting in the upper Basel region and is well networked in the educational and social area of Northwestern Switzerland.

Boys and girls are socially and pedagogically supported in four residential groups, attend the internal special school at primary school level, and subsequently attend external secondary schools (public school) or vocational training in the region.

We are looking for a School Social Pedagogue HF/FH (m/f/d) 60 - 80 % starting January 2026 or by arrangement.

You will work as part of the school team and enjoy developing something new. A remedial teacher as well as school social pedagogues are also part of the school team, who additionally and specifically support the students inside and outside the classroom.

We work strength- and solution-oriented and place great value on interdisciplinary collaboration with the social pedagogy of the residential groups.

You bring

Diploma as a Social Pedagogue HF/FH

Joy and experience in dealing with children with special needs or the willingness to acquire the corresponding skills
