About the job
Our emergency shelter Iglu is a low-threshold service for people in need without a clarified residence status in Switzerland ("migrant workers"). From mid-November to mid-April, the Iglu is open daily from 19:00 to 08:00 and offers guests, in addition to a sleeping place, an evening meal and breakfast. We support those affected in their current life situation and provide information and advice. The service is free of charge for guests.
We are looking for a
Caregiver for Evening and Night Shift 50% – 80%
A challenging role:
- Responsible for the SWS service during the night
- Admitting and registering guests
- Allocation of sleeping places
- Care of the guests
- Enforcement of house rules
- Preparation of breakfast in the morning
- Guidance of volunteer staff and their integration into the evening team
A profile that convinces:
- Experience working with homeless people, those with substance abuse disorders and/or psychiatric illnesses
- Teamwork skills, independence
- High flexibility and resilience
- Foreign language skills are an advantage
- Willingness to work shifts
