Role:

Good cloud architecture arises where technical depth meets foresight. As a Senior Modern Workplace Engineer, you take technical leadership in transforming established infrastructures into Azure and Microsoft 365 (M365). You make architectural decisions with far-reaching impact and implement them consistently in an automated manner. Complex dependencies between identity, network, and endpoint excite you rather than deter you. When it comes to standards and best practices, your word carries weight.

Responsibilities:

• You design secure and scalable cloud architectures and modernise existing environments specifically regarding security, governance, and costs.

• With Bicep and PowerShell, you build standardised deployment patterns and additionally automate workplace processes via APIs.

• This also includes the conception of landing zones and the management of migration projects from the company’s own data centre to the cloud.

• You plan virtual networks with peering, DNS, routing, and hybrid connections and coordinate firewall integration closely with network specialists.

• Furthermore, you design access concepts around Entra ID, RBAC, MFA, and enterprise applications and advance endpoint security with Intune.

• Additionally, you evaluate new Microsoft, automation, and AI solutions in your own proofs of concept and resolve error patterns affecting multiple levels.

Qualifications:

• You have many years of experience in engineering and architecture of Microsoft cloud environments and have already managed demanding on-premises migrations.

• You are confident in Infrastructure as Code (IaC). You structure deployments modularly and reusably, and automate complex processes with scripts.

• You master conditional access, app registrations, and RBAC as well as device compliance and endpoint management with Microsoft Intune.

• You understand Azure networking in detail, from private endpoints through private DNS to VPN. You are familiar with firewall and network security concepts, ideally also with Fortinet.

• Furthermore, you implement zero-trust principles technically and derive sustainable architectural decisions from complex dependencies.

• Microsoft certifications such as Solutions Architect Expert, Security Engineer Associate, or Identity and Access Administrator round off your profile.
