Who are we?

The Swiss Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training EHB is the Swiss centre of expertise for vocational education and training. We train and further educate those responsible for vocational education, research vocational education, develop professions, and support international vocational education cooperation. Our locations are in Zollikofen near Bern (headquarters), Lausanne and Lugano, with external sites in Olten and Zurich.

For our Directorate in Zollikofen we are looking for an engaged personality with initiative and pronounced structured thinking by agreement as

Head of University Development 80-100%

Your area of responsibility

• Supporting the Director and the university management in strategic, conceptual and organisational developments of the EHB as well as in their implementation
• Active participation in and leadership of projects to implement the EHB strategy and the strategic goals of the Federal Council as well as support in monitoring the implementation
• Conceptual, planning and coordination work in the areas of strategy, leadership, organisation and university development
• Professional and personnel management of the directorate staff
• Further development of the university development area and support in cross-departmental topics
• Design and maintenance of cooperation with university management members and within the entire directorate (HR, Legal Service, Communication, Organisation & Quality, International Relations)
• Content preparation and follow-up of university management meetings and retreats as well as ensuring business communication between university management and the EHB Council
• Planning and organisation of internal events (such as management conferences) and support for strategically relevant internal formats
• Member of the university management with an advisory vote

Your profile

• Completed university degree, preferably in a social or humanities discipline
• Sound knowledge of the education landscape, especially vocational education and universities, as well as a strong affinity for educational and university issues
• Several years of professional experience in a conceptual, coordinating or project management role, preferably in the education, university or public sector
• Good sense of institutional and political contexts as well as a binding and diplomatic approach in dealing with different stakeholders
• High willingness to learn and develop, initiative, innovative ability and analytical skills as well as the ability to quickly grasp, structure and prepare complex topics appropriately for the target audience
• Organisational and coordination strength as well as reliability in implementation
• Very good language skills in German or French as well as good knowledge of the other language; knowledge of Italian and/or English is desirable
