As a Software Engineer Automation, you support our customers from conception, implementation, testing, to commissioning of the software and beyond. You work on the further development and application commissioning of complex lines (PLC, motion) with connection to third-party components, e.g. casting system, convincing system, oven, or downstream packaging machines.
This is how you create added value:
You work in a small project team (between 2-4 colleagues) on shorter and longer projects (from approximately 4 up to 15 weeks depending on project size)
You take responsibility in various project phases, such as planning and implementing automation solutions up to successful operation
You create software programmes in the field of process automation (PLC/PCS7/ProLeit as well as visualisations)
You are the contact person for the project internally and externally
You see challenges in problems and contribute innovative ideas to finding solutions
You develop our control architecture further together with the team and create solutions for future requirements of our machines
For optimal fulfilment of the tasks, you need the following professional qualifications:
Preferably basic electrical training (e.g. automation technician or electrician)
A completed technical education (TS, HF, FH)
Initial experience in implementing process automation projects
Good knowledge of programming in Siemens TIA Portal and WinCC, flexible Unified is an advantage
and/or good knowledge of Rockwell Studio 5000
Good knowledge of Siemens and/or Rockwell fail-safe PLCs
Good knowledge of drive technology (frequency converters and servo controllers, motion control is an advantage)
Networked thinking (flexibility, openness, strategic foresight)
Good German skills (at least C1); very good English skills
