About Us
The Swiss Arbitration Centre (the Centre) administers around 150 cases under the Swiss Rules of International Arbitration, the Swiss Rules of Mediation, and the Rules of Mediation Procedure for Financial Services. The cases are administered in English, French, German, and Italian.
The Centre is affiliated with the Swiss Chambers of Commerce as well as the Swiss Arbitration Association (ASA), an association with around 1’000 members in Switzerland and abroad, promoting domestic and international arbitration as well as alternative dispute resolution globally.

Your Role
The Centre is looking for an Assistant in its in its centrally located office in Zurich. In this role, you will:
- Organise, maintain and archive the electronic case files for about 50 arbitration and mediation cases in English and German.
- Prepare and send written correspondence with parties, legal representatives and arbitrators.
- Check procedural time limits and prepare next procedural steps.
- Answer telephone enquiries about ongoing cases and general enquiries.
- Monitor incoming payments and prepare outgoing payments in pending cases.
- Collect statistical information related to the Centre’s caseload.
- Support in the organisation of the office, occasional professional meetings and events.
This will be done in close cooperation with the Legal Counsel responsible for the administration of arbitration and mediation cases.
The position reports to the Managing Legal Counsel and Executive Director.
Your Profile
- A commercial apprenticeship, equivalent certificate of achievement or matura, ideally professional experience as a legal assistant or as a secretary at a court; experience abroad is an advantage.
- Confident German and very good written and spoken English; other language skills are an advantage.
- Very good IT skills and interest in supporting in IT-related matters.
- Diligence and accuracy in all matters. Ability to prioritise.
- Reliability and sense of responsibility.
- Independence and initiative combined with the ability to work in a team.
- Strong service orientation and courtesy.
- Legal entitlement to work in Switzerland or eligibility to obtain a Swiss work permit.
