The Zugang B Foundation is responsible in the Canton of Bern for unaccompanied minors who have come to Switzerland without a legal guardian. With professional services in the areas of education, vocational integration, and 24/7 care, it creates the conditions for young people to receive protection, stability, and genuine future prospects. Together with employees, authorities, and a broad network, the foundation makes an important social contribution and advocates for child-appropriate support and promotion as well as sustainable integration.
For the overall management of the foundation, we are looking for a unifying and decisive leader. You will take responsibility for an organisation with high social relevance, shape its strategic development, and together with your team create the framework conditions for a successful future.
Your tasks
- Overall management and strategic development of the Zugang B Foundation in close cooperation with the executive team and the board of trustees
- Leadership, promotion, and development of the directly subordinate management personnel
- Operational control and responsibility of the foundation in terms of personnel, financial, and organisational matters
- Responsibility for service contract negotiations with the Canton of Bern as well as maintenance and expansion of cooperation with authorities, specialist offices, and other stakeholders
- Ensuring child welfare as well as compliance with professional, qualitative, and legal regulations and standards
- Leading the foundation in crisis and exceptional situations and ensuring a professional and stable operation
- Promoting interdisciplinary collaboration and conceptual development of services and offerings
- Representing the foundation towards politics, administration, and expert committees as well as positioning it as a competent and reliable partner
Your competencies
- University degree in social work, psychology, pedagogy, or a comparable field
- Further training in management, leadership, or business administration
- Several years of leadership experience at executive or departmental management level in a non-profit organisation in the social sector
- Experience in organisational development as well as a pronounced understanding of social-political, institutional, and financial contexts
- Strategic thinking combined with strong implementation skills
- Ability to quickly adapt structures in a volatile and dynamic environment
- Integrative, appreciative leadership personality with a strong intercultural interest
- Transparent and consistent attitude and communication
- Confident appearance and the ability to build and maintain sustainable relationships with internal and external stakeholders
