At the Directorate for Education, Social Affairs and Sport, the person is at the centre. The Social Service is responsible for adults seeking help and their family members.

What you will achieve

• Comprehensive assessments within the framework of new registrations in the area of economic social assistance, including responsibility, subsidiarity and the concerns of the clients
• Advising people in challenging life situations, supporting and advising in the areas of finance, housing, health, work and social integration
• Creating initial budgets within the framework of economic social assistance
• Ensuring professional service within the framework of social assistance legislation and social work
• Referring services, coordinating various support offers, setting initial goals and initiating first concrete process steps

What you bring

• University of Applied Sciences degree in Social Work
• Professional experience, ideally in the field of public social assistance, and comprehensive knowledge in the areas of subsidiarity, social assistance and Swiss social insurance desired
• Quick understanding of complex situations
• Team, communication and conflict skills as well as interest in interdisciplinary and inter-institutional cooperation
• Planning, organisational and administrative skills as well as flexibility, independence and initiative
• You keep a cool head and do not lose your sense of humour even in hectic situations

If there is mutual interest and depending on the position, several interviews may take place. All your questions about the position, the team or the employment conditions are always welcome.

Step 3: Further steps in the process

Depending on the position, we arrange a trial or taster day, give you a professional task, organise a meeting with the team or invite you to an assessment. Usually, reference checks are also part of our application process. You will be transparently informed about all steps in the process.

Step 4: Application decision
