PostgreSQL Database Engineer (m/f/d)/ Azure / Terraform / Ansible/ 100%/ ZH
Project You operate and optimise a large PostgreSQL landscape on Azure PostgreSQL Flexible Server and automate database processes with Terraform, Ansible or comparable IaC tools. In doing so, you ensure performance, security and stability and optimise monitoring as well as backup and recovery processes. Start November at 100% in Zurich for 10 months.

Tasks:

• Analysis, operation and continuous optimisation of the existing PostgreSQL database landscape
• Identification and resolution of performance bottlenecks as well as optimisation of scalability and resource utilisation
• Automation of database processes such as provisioning, configuration, monitoring, backup, restoration and scaling
• Implementation of Infrastructure-as-Code solutions (IaC) with Terraform, Ansible or comparable technologies
• Ensuring stable, secure and highly available database operations
• Monitoring database performance as well as handling incidents and service requests
• Implementation of best practices for performance tuning, security configurations and high availability
• Close collaboration with the internal database team as well as technical consulting and knowledge transfer
• Creation and maintenance of technical documentation
• Application of DevOps principles and support of automated CI/CD processes

Requirements:

• Several years of practical experience in the administration, operation and optimisation of PostgreSQL databases in large, productive environments
• Solid experience with Microsoft Azure, especially with Azure Database for PostgreSQL - Flexible Server
• Experience in automating database processes and using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Practical knowledge of Terraform, Ansible or comparable automation tools
• Experience with PostgreSQL from version 15
• Comprehensive knowledge in performance tuning, monitoring, troubleshooting, backup and recovery as well as database security and high availability
