Python & Cloud Native Software Engineer (76078)

Task

We are looking for an experienced Python & Cloud Native Software Engineer for one of our clients. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will take on a central technical role in an agile development team at Telekom. In addition to developing sophisticated software solutions, you are responsible for the technical quality of implementation, support the team as a technical contact, and actively shape the software architecture. You lead the team technically, establish best practices, and ensure sustainable and high-quality software development through code reviews, architectural decisions, and mentoring. You work closely with product owners, architects, and other development teams. The Digital Solution Connectivity (DSO CNS) consists of employees from both business and technical areas and is responsible for the conception, development, operation, and continuous further development of digital connectivity solutions.

For the "RIO" team, we are looking for a committed, responsible, and motivated Senior Software Developer. The "RIO" team ensures that our technical data, network resources, and infrastructure can be reliably recorded, prepared, and controlled. It produces important reports (e.g. NISV-QS), supports operational communication, supports billing, and orchestrates technical resources so that products and services are provided correctly. In addition, Rio is responsible for asset and technical room management – that is, the transparency and maintenance of our physical networks, systems, and cabling as well as the logical relationships of services.

Requirements

• Residence in Switzerland, preferably in the Bern area
• At least 8 years of professional software development experience
• Several years of experience as a Senior Developer, Technical Lead, or Lead Engineer
• Excellent knowledge of Python and modern Python frameworks, especially FastAPI
• Experience with FastStream and event-driven architectures
• Very good knowledge in the development and operation of microservices
• Solid experience with Apache Kafka
• Several years of experience with Kubernetes and OpenShift
• Very good knowledge in API management as well as in the design and development of REST APIs
• Experience in creating and evaluating software architectures
• Proven experience in conducting code reviews and establishing development standards
• Experience with Clean Architecture, Clean Code, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), and test automation
• Very good knowledge of Git and modern CI/CD processes
• Experience in agile development methods (Scrum, Kanban)
• Strong communication skills, analytical thinking, and a high quality awareness
• Very good German and good English skills
• Experience in the telecommunications environment (OSS/BSS, network management, provisioning, or service orchestration)
• Knowledge of TM Forum Open APIs, Open Digital Architecture (ODA), or comparable industry standards
• Experience with cloud-native architectures and DevSecOps
• Knowledge in observability (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform or Ansible)
