The Federal Office of Justice is the federal competence center for law. It manages legislative projects in constitutional, administrative, private and criminal law. It also advises on all federal legislative matters and is active internationally.
The European Law and Schengen/Dublin Coordination Division (ERSD) of the Federal Office of Justice advises the federal administration on European law issues within the framework of legislation and ensures the preventive control of the compatibility of draft laws and ordinances with the bilateral Switzerland-EU obligations. On behalf of the FDJP, ERSD also coordinates the federal administration's actions within the framework of Switzerland's Schengen/Dublin association.
