Head of Digital Experience Solutions Department

Shaping the visions of digitalisation: As a strategist, you translate strategies into plans. You create the big picture for e-government, web presence, business administration and other components, seamlessly integrating our solutions into the cantonal system landscape.

Economic IT services: You are responsible for the economic operation of the department. With business cases, you examine the professional and financial balance of the end-to-end solutions to create real added value for the canton.

Trends & lifecycle management: You monitor the lifecycle of the services, identify trends and initiate projects at an early stage. You act as the client for cantonal IT projects in your area, shape the target operating model and drive change management forward.

Leadership & motivating management: You lead four team leaders both professionally and disciplinarily with clear goals and an appreciative performance culture. In complex challenges, you act as a clarifying escalation level and create optimal framework conditions.

Future-proof team development: You are responsible for the structure and strategic orientation of the department. You ensure that the team leaders plan resources and capacities proactively and that the teams are optimally positioned for future projects.

Experience: You bring solid digitalisation experience (end-to-end) and strong business understanding. You have successfully built and led IT teams, convincing through leadership and clear communication. Knowledge of administration is a plus.

Personality: You think future-oriented, act in a structured manner and can clearly communicate goals and the "why". With assertiveness and your winning, audience-appropriate communication, you engage your teams and stakeholders.

Education: You have a higher degree (university, university of applied sciences) in (business) informatics. This foundation is optimally complemented by several years of solid professional experience in digitalisation and demanding project environments.

Language: You communicate professionally, confidently and fluently at management level at all times. Very good oral and written German skills are mandatory for this role; English skills ideally complete your profile.

IT BS is the internal IT service provider of the Canton of Basel-Stadt and belongs to the Department of Finance. The department provides the collaboration and communication infrastructure for mobile and stationary IT workplaces and the associated support. Additionally, IT BS continuously develops various offerings for the public in the area of eGovernment and digitalisation. A functioning IT is central to the efficient operation of the cantonal administration.

The Cross-Section Applications department significantly drives digitalisation in the Canton of Basel-Stadt. As an application manager in the E-Government Business Solutions team, you actively shape modern digital basic services and ensure that the basic services eSignature, online appointment scheduling and secure file exchange function reliably and user-friendly for the administration.
