Customs & Trade Compliance Specialist (m/f/d)

Role:
In this specialist role, you take responsibility for key topics around customs, export control, and trade compliance. You assess complex issues related to tariff classification, country of origin, preferences, and sanctions, and support internal departments in their correct implementation. At the same time, you contribute to audits, projects, and the further development of the company-wide trade compliance system.
Responsibilities:
Conducting inspections and controls in the area of trade compliance and export control
Tariff classification of goods as well as assessment of origin and preferences
Review of sanctions, embargoes, and export control regulations
Advising internal departments and collaborating with customs authorities and external partners
Preparation and support of audits and customs inspections
Analysis of regulatory developments and derivation of appropriate measures
Creation and maintenance of guidelines, work instructions, and specialist documentation
Participation in training, projects, and the further development of compliance processes
Qualifications:
Several years of experience in customs, export control, trade compliance, or international foreign trade
Commercial basic training with further education in customs or foreign trade, for example as a foreign trade specialist with a federal certificate
Sound knowledge of tariff classification, country of origin, preference law, and free trade agreements
Knowledge of export control law as well as handling sanctions and embargoes
Experience with customs valuation topics as well as ERP and customs systems
Very good German and English skills
Analytical, independent, and structured working style with strong communication skills
Experience in projects, audits, or internal training is an advantage
