A responsible position in the area of Enterprise Backup, Data Protection and Disaster Recovery offers the opportunity to actively shape a critical IT infrastructure. We are looking for a technically skilled engineer who ensures the reliable protection and recoverability of important company data.
The role combines operational engineering with automation, recovery tests and infrastructure development. At the same time, you will work on modernising existing environments and support technological changes and migration projects.
Responsibilities:
Administration and continuous optimisation of enterprise backup and recovery solutions
Monitoring backup processes as well as analysing and resolving errors in the restore environment
Development and implementation of monitoring and automation concepts
Planning and conducting recovery exercises and disaster recovery tests
Participation in the further development of the backup architecture as well as in migrations and modernisations
Supporting the infrastructure team with technical tasks and on-call duties
Qualifications:
Higher education in computer science, computer science or a comparable field
Several years of practical experience with enterprise backup, recovery and data protection
Solid fundamentals in SAN, Windows and Linux as well as experience with disaster recovery strategies
Knowledge of Red Hat Linux and UNIX as well as enthusiasm for scripting and automation
ITIL and/or TOGAF knowledge or corresponding certifications are a plus
Independent, responsible and analytical working style, strong problem-solving skills and fluent English
